Case Report
Interprosthetic femoral fractures between a total hip arthroplasty and a total knee arthroplasty pose a unique problem as they most commonly occur in the fragile metaphyseal supracondylar region. There remains ongoing debate over the ideal fixation strategy for this injury pattern. The goal of this study was to highlight a combined retrograde intramedullary nail and minimally invasive locked lateral plating technique with a periprosthetic plating system. Postoperatively patients were allowed to fully weight bear on this fixation construct. A large case series of patients treated with this treatment strategy will be presented.
