Pyogenic Flexor Tenosynovitis of the Finger Following Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release: A Case Report.

A 60-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with hand pain and edema 1 week following endoscopic carpal tunnel release (CTR). She was diagnosed with pyogenic flexor tenosynovitis, which was successfully treated with surgical drainage and intravenous antibiotics, resulting in no long-term side effects./r/nThis case highlights the first reported instance of pyogenic flexor tenosynovitis as a complication after endoscopic CTR. Although this relatively safe procedure carries a low infection risk, prophylactic antibiotics should be considered for high-risk patients. In addition, postoperative patients presenting with acute symptoms should be thoroughly evaluated for urgent infectious complications.
